One of the hottest topics right now on public college campuses in Missouri is legislation going through the Missouri General Assembly that included a provision allowing concealed weapons on the campuses of public colleges in Missouri.
Students and faculty continue to talk about their views on this legislation. For example, the MU Faculty Council unanimously approved a statement Thursday in support of a statement UM System President Gary Forsee made against the provision.
In fact, all of the public four year university presidents in Missouri are against the provision.
Supporters of the provision say allowing concealed weapons on college campuses will create a safer campus for students and deter violence.
