At approximately 9:45 p.m. Senator Barack Obama was announced by MSNBC and the Associated Press as the new President Elect. Shortly after, Senator John McCain of Arizona formerly conceded to the Illinois senator in a speech.
As more electoral votes rolled in for Sen. Obama, coverage shifted to his rally in Grant Park Chicago and reactions were emotional. As soon as the new President arrived, he walked on the stage with his family and then gave an acceptance speech that reinforced his motto of change.
