Mizzou’s LGBT community has set aside the month of april to celebrate and honor the cultural diversity of MU’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The LGBT Resource Center invites the campus community to help celebrate with various activities, events and discussions organised thoroughout the month.

Wednesday, April 11
Event: Triangle Coalition presents Pride in the Past
Time & Location: 8 PM, Memorial Union N234
Details: An evening discussion of Mizzou’s LGBT history featuring a slideshow presentation and guest panelists.
Friday, April 13
Event: Brownbag Discussion: LGBT History at Mizzou
Time & Location: Noon – 1 PM, LGBT Resource Center, 216 Brady Commons
Details: A discussion about where we have been and where we are going. Refreshments provided.
Event: Professional Drag Show
Time & Location: 8 PM, Jesse Auditorium
Details: Featuring NYC recording artist, Hedda Lettuce, the 2004 Miss Gay US of A at Large, Kitty Litter, and Big & Maxx.
Saturday, April 14
Event: Rainbow-licious! An All-Inclusive LGBT Educational Forum
Time & Location: 8 AM – 3 PM, Unitarian Universalist Church, 2615 Shepard Blvd.
Details: Forum will include special speakers, educational workshops, and excellent networking opportunities. Registration is free if made in advance. $10 at the door. Registration forms located in 216 Brady Commons.
Event: New GRL’s on the Block: Community Mixer and Fundraiser
Time & Location: 6 PM, Faculty Alumni Lounge, S304 Memorial Union
Details: Meet the new MU progressive sorority, Gamma Rho Lambda. Enjoy food and learn more about their plans.

Event: Keynote Speaker: Amber Hollibaugh of NGLTF
7 PM – 9 PM, Allen Auditorium, Arts and Science Building
Details: Amber Hollibaugh, Senior Strategist of the National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce, she is also a well-known activist, author, director, artist, public intellectual, and community organizer.
Wednesday, April 18
Event: National Day of Silence / Breaking the Silence
Time & Location: All Day / 4 PM, Speaker’s Circle
Details: Participate in this campus-wide effort to remember all groups who have been silenced by oppression. Your silence can be a powerful message! Join us at 4 PM in Speaker’s Circle to break the silence and reflect on the day.

Event: Little Mama’s Burly-Q Revue presents: Ready or Not…Here We Come: A Fiery-Hot Radical Revolution

Event: Rock Against Rape

Details: This is an evening of music and is part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This event will benefit The Shelter and the LEAD Institute.
