The Missouri School of Journalism will send about 50 students to Beijing to work as interns/volunteers at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Students will earn journalism credit while working with the International Press Corp covering the XXIX Olympiad.
The students will be chosen and trained under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding between the j-school, Renmin University of China and the Beijing organizing Committee of the XXIX Olympiad. The memorandum will be signed in a ceremony Thursday, at 2:15 p.m., in Room 208 of the Reynolds Alumni Center.
Sun Weijia, Head of Media Operations for the Beijing Organizing Committee, is scheduled to meet with students 5 p.m. Thursday in Fisher Auditorium to describe the program.
